So I had problems doing the system update. When I tried to do a system update, it would say 'checking for update' and just remain there for an hour or more until I turned it off. The same issue happened when I tried updating a game app. Tried Zen Pinball and it did the same thing. Even with Mario Kart 8. I thought it was a router problem, but all my wifi devices are up close to the system and wasn't having any problem, nor was I having issues watching either NetFlix or YouTube on it. And last night (Tuesday), I tried playing Mario Kart 8 online before the patch and had no issues playing online.
Today, I called Nintendo and giving some advise, including doing a system format, which I did, after savin files to my USB drive. During the reformat, the screen went pitch black. which worried me... cause it stayed like that for an hour. I had to force the system off to get it to turn off. Turning it back on though sent me to the intro screen where you're suppose to sync the WiiU to the gamepad. Nothing... it won't sync up at all. I push the button on the WiiU but it wouldn't notice I'm trying to sync the game pad at all.
At first I was using a 3rd party Sensor bar, so I switch to the Nintendo one, the one that came with my Wii, same issue. Wouldn't Sync. Now I have no idea what to do... the only option I have is to send it in to Nintendo, which is $185 price tag... kinda wonder if there's anything else I can do on my own, or is it pretty much dead in the water, with the only option to send it in for repairs?
