Accidentally unplugged new Wii U (twice) :(

Hi guys, I just want to extend my most sincere thanks in advance for any help I receive!

Today was a great day, as I was finally able to get my hands on a Wii U (the 8gb Skylander's Swap Force Bundle) along with several games I've simply been dying to play including the amazing New Super Mario Bros. U, Super Mario 3D World, and Mario Kart 8!  So I get home and proceed to set it up right away.

As with most new consoles, I had to apply a long update which was nearly impossible to wait out due to my excitement!  However, I was able to get through the initial update.  Unfortunately, during the second and final stage of the update, I accidentally tripped over the power strip that the Wii U was connected to and disconnected everything that was plugged in, including the Wii U.  The LED indicating the Wii U's power went out, and left me in a terrified state that I had already bricked my brand new Wii U. I immediately turned it back on, though, and I was relieved to see it still working, and after prompting me to make a Mii, it immediatlely resumed the update right from the point where I unplugged it (about 80%).

However, this was not the end of my troubles, as after setting things up and introducing myself to the beauty that is Mario Kart 8, the console powered off again.  I initally thought that something was wrong with the console, as the power LED went from blue to red almost instantly, that I didn't see the power go off, and assumed something else was wrong.  Upon inspecting the power strip the Wii U was plugged into, I noticed that the plug for the Wii U itself was not plugged in all the way, and it was clear that this was the reason for the second short out.

Once again terrified, I secured the plug for the Wii U all the way into the pocket socket and turned it back on.  Again, started back up with no problems and I was able to resume playing Mario Kart 8.

However, I tend to OCD about the welfare of my systems, and now I'm just worried about a few details that I wanted to see if I could clarify here with you fine people.  First of all, is there any chance I did long term damage to the console and/or it's HDD (or other components?)  I'm aware that unplugging a computer while it is running can damage a HDD, so I'm a little worried that basically even though it's not immediately obvious, I did damage to my Wii U in some way.  If someone could clarify that I did or didn't it would be most appreciated. Secondly, did I shorten the system's life-span at all by doing this?  And finally, could there be damages to overall system functionality after this incident?

I'm sorry for such a long-winded question, and anyone that bore through it has my eternal thanks!
