So I got my 7 yr old boy a Wii U for Christmas after a few years of loving the Wii. Only got it set up today so not had much chance to play around but we like what we have seen so far very much.
I have some major confusion in my head around user settings and Miis etc which I really hope someone can put me straight on. Ok so....
On the old Wii my son had created a number of Miis (having fun creating ones for his friends). He always played under his own Mii and has a few games with saves. He obviously wants to bring the these saves and his Miis over to the Wii U.
I have found the guide to transferring that data but I am really confused.
As part of the set up process on the Wii U we had to create a new user setting. So my son created one for himself, though as we were worried it may create an issue with the import he named it slightly differently to the Mii he always plays with. What I don't get, is what happens when we do import the data? Will he then need to remove that user setting and use his previous Mii? Or do the Miis sit behind the user and whenever he plays a game it asks which Mii he wants to play as (so essentially there are two characters for my son - the user profile and his imported Mii). That just seems weird as he will have "designed" them both.
Also, as part of the import process he has to attach a Network ID should we just do that against his new Wii U user profile?
I do hope that all makes sense and I would be so grateful for any help......
