Hi,
I've had my Wii U for about a week or two and it's been working great connected in surround via HDMI to my Yamaha receiver (RX-V475). The surround audio test was audible in each of my surround speakers. Fast-forward to yesterday and the Wii U has stopped outputting audio when set to output surround.
I double-checked my other HDMI inputs (Xbox 360 and Blu-ray player) and both still outputting PCM perfectly. The Wii U surround test now makes no sound at all unless I switch it to stereo (which I don't want). When switching back and forth from Stereo to Surround in Wii U settings, I can see the receiver reacting to the changing signal by displaying the appropriate speakers, but the Wii U seems to not be sending audio when set to surround (even though the receiver sees the PCM signal).
Not sure why this stopped working all of a sudden. I tried powering off the Wii and adjusting the receiver, but honestly the receiver settings look perfect and are the same as they've been the past two weeks. My receiver is LPCM compatible and like I said, the Wii U surround test worked perfectly when I first set it up.
Any help is appreciated.
Thank you!
